The Directorate of Platform Services (DPS) within Enterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) and Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) has a requirement for services to support reliable and sustainable application hosting services that support Defence capability delivery and business outcomes. Its primary focus is on the governance, assurance, and compliance of platform service delivery, ensuring services are delivered effectively and in accordance with Defence requirements.

The requirement – highly technical specialist resources for capability and support services including; independent technical assurance, support architecture, governance processes, management of technical risks, compliance oversight of Defence standards and policies, and contribute to the ongoing delivery and sustainment of critical platform services and ICT infrastructure

Background to the Services

• The Directorate of Platform Services (DPS) within Enterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) and Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) has a requirement for services to support reliable and sustainable application hosting services that support Defence capability delivery and business outcomes. Its primary focus is on the governance, assurance, and compliance of platform service delivery, ensuring services are delivered effectively and in accordance with Defence requirements. The Directorate also serves as the governance interface between Defence ICT Operations and service providers, oversees application hosting and data storage services within OFFICIAL, PROTECTED and SECRET domains, and manages vendor performance to ensure the delivery of hosting, platform, and Common Operating Environment services.
• The requirement for these Services is due to identified need to engage three highly technical specialist resources that are not readily available within the Commonwealth capability, and support services including; independent technical assurance, support architecture governance processes, manage technical risks, oversee compliance with Defence standards and policies, and contribute to the ongoing delivery and sustainment of critical platform services and ICT infrastructure.
• The Services must deliver two highly experienced Solution Architect/Technical Assurance (2.0 FTE – ARCH 5) resources to ensure all platform (including data-centre and cloud) designs meet Defence architecture and cyber standards, preventing architectural drift, insecure integrations, or misaligned lifecycle decisions that could result in outages, cyber exposure, or costly remediation, including:

• • Provide architectural oversight with independent assurance to support informed decision-making and risk management oversight.
  • Assess and assure solution architectures, technical designs and implementation approaches for infrastructure, platform and cloud services to ensure alignment with Defence enterprise architecture, security requirements, technical standards and strategic objectives.

Provide architecture governance and design authority support for platform services, including review of proposed changes, projects, enhancements and technology refresh activities to ensure operational sustainability, supportability and lifecycle viability
